Libyan Human Rights Commission was founded in 1985 to promote compliance with Human Rights & Democracy in Libya.

The commission is organized to promote Libyan Compliance with Human Rights as defined and declared in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted and proclaimed by the peoples of the world through the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 10, 1948

The Commission has no Political affiliation and may not engage in any political debates or activities. Naturally, any one Commission Member on his or her own and not on behalf of the Libyan Human Rights Commission (LHRC) has total freedom to debate and engage in any such activities.
